Historical Background
The Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) marked the 175th anniversary of railways in Austria with a special red-and-white livery applied to one of its flagship Railjet trains. The striking design recreated the colours of the Austrian national flag across the train, using approximately 1,660 square metres of film to create a continuous flag motif measuring around 206 metres in length.
The commemorative train operated on domestic and international routes, showcasing Austrian railway heritage through a modern high-speed passenger service. This ROCO set reproduces three coaches from the special formation, including a first-class Ampz and two economy-class Bmpz coaches, representing the RJ 564 service between Vienna Westbahnhof and Lindau Hauptbahnhof.
