Airfix 1/76 Panther A01302V Model Kit – A True Icon of WWII Armour

Step back in time and recreate one of World War II’s most iconic tanks with the Airfix 1/76 Panther A01302V Model Kit. Designed in 1942 by MAN AG to counter the formidable Soviet T-34, the Panther was a revolutionary addition to German armoured forces. Serving alongside the Panzer IV and the Tiger I, this medium tank was renowned for its exceptional firepower and innovative design, making it one of the most effective tanks of its era.

The Panther combined a powerful Maybach V12 petrol engine (690 hp) with efficient frontal armour and superior gun penetration. Its advanced engineering allowed for impressive speed and manoeuvrability on rough terrain, making it a formidable force in open battles and long-range engagements. However, its lighter side armour left it vulnerable to flanking attacks, and early models faced technical challenges due to its rushed deployment at the Battle of Kursk. By late 1943, most design flaws were resolved, enhancing the Panther’s reliability. Despite production challenges, including raw material shortages and factory bombings, this tank left an enduring legacy. Even after WWII, the Panther continued to serve with allied forces, cementing its place in military history.

This kit is a part of the Airfix Vintage Classics collection, featuring mould tools originally designed in 1961 and artwork by G. Schule from the same year. Relive the nostalgia with this beautifully detailed Panther tank, complete in 1943 German Africa Corps colours.
