The Traxxas X-Maxx Ultimate is the most capable large-scale RC monster truck you can buy. Built around a 30+ volt 8S brushless power system, it delivers over 50 mph out of the box and comes loaded with over £1,000 worth of 6061-T6 aluminium upgrades across the suspension, drivetrain, chassis and steering — straight from the factory.
At 779mm (30.67") long and weighing 8.66kg, this is a serious piece of kit. The X-Maxx Ultimate arrives fully assembled and Ready-To-Race with the VXL-8s waterproof ESC, Velineon 1200XL brushless motor, belted Sledgehammer tyres, TQi 2.4GHz radio with TSM stability management, and a factory-installed wireless module for real-time telemetry via the Traxxas Link app.
Aluminium Performance Upgrades
What separates the Ultimate from the standard X-Maxx is a comprehensive set of 6061-T6 aluminium components: C-hubs, steering blocks, rear hub carriers, differential housings, motor mounts, wheelie bar wheels, and motor washers. These aren't cosmetic — they fundamentally improve durability and handling under the kind of punishment an 8S truck dishes out.
VXL-8s Brushless Power System
The waterproof VXL-8s speed controller paired with the Velineon 1200XL Big Block motor produces brutal acceleration and a verified 50+ mph top speed with two 4S LiPo batteries. Integrated telemetry feeds real-time speed, RPM and battery voltage data to your phone via the included Traxxas Link wireless module.
Belted Sledgehammer Tyres
The 8.4-inch belted Sledgehammer tyres use internal belting to eliminate high-speed ballooning, maintaining tyre shape for a larger contact patch and better grip. The open-block tread pattern sheds mud and debris without clogging, providing consistent traction on virtually any surface.
All-Metal 4WD Drivetrain
Power reaches all four wheels through a shaft-driven 4WD system featuring the Torque-Biasing Center Drive, hardened steel CV driveshafts, sealed steel bevel differentials, and the Cush Drive system that absorbs driveline shock. Every gear in the drivetrain is metal — nothing plastic in the power path.
