Representing Era IV, this set recreates classic East German passenger services with two traditional reconstructed passenger coaches. Ideal for modelling regional trains and local passenger services across the former German Democratic Republic, these coaches can be combined with suitable DR steam and diesel locomotives to create authentic historical train formations.

Features:

Two-piece Deutsche Reichsbahn passenger coach set.

TT scale models representing Era IV.

Ideal for recreating East German regional passenger services.

Suitable for combining with contemporary DR locomotives and rolling stock.

Historical Background

Following the Second World War, the Deutsche Reichsbahn operated passenger services throughout East Germany, connecting major cities, industrial centres and rural communities. During Era IV, locomotive-hauled trains remained an important part of everyday transport, with a wide variety of passenger coaches serving both main lines and secondary routes.

The DR continually adapted its passenger fleet to meet operational requirements, using reconstructed coaches and traditional carriage designs on regional and local services. These trains were commonly hauled by steam and diesel locomotives, depending on the route and period. This ROCO two-piece coach set captures the character of East German railway operations during Era IV, making it a useful addition to TT scale layouts depicting the Deutsche Reichsbahn network.
